Where does the data come from and how current is it?
From The State Bar of California's public licence roll — 278,688 records, California only. The registry re-walks the roll continuously rather than importing it once, so a change made with the regulator arrives here on its own.
Anything an attorney has added themselves — a biography, practice areas, photographs — is theirs and is current as of when they last edited it.
There are no attorneys from other states here. California is the whole scope, and a search that finds nothing may simply be looking for somebody licensed elsewhere.
