Getting helpUsing the registry
Can I talk to a person?
Yes, for the things that need one. 8 kinds of request go to a person rather than being handled here — they are listed below. Everything else about how the registry works is answered on these pages, deliberately: an answer you can read now beats waiting for a reply.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. This registry is not an emergency service and nothing here is a substitute for one.
A person handles: someone is in immediate danger; a complaint or a legal threat; you are represented by a lawyer in this matter; stop emailing or texting me; a privacy right — access, correction, or deletion; the official roll record is wrong; a billing dispute or a card chargeback; and a regulator or press inquiry.
Each of those asks the registry to DO something with legal consequence rather than to explain something, which is why a person takes it. The explanation is still here: what the process is, what happens next, and what to include.
