Why can't I switch off some of these?
6 kinds cannot be switched off because they are part of your account working — a sign-in link, or confirmation of something you just did. They are shown on the settings page rather than hidden, so you can see exactly what they are.
Hiding them would be tidier and would leave you wondering what else was being sent. Everything else on that page can be switched off, and nothing you switch off affects your listing or your membership.
People with a case on the registry have their own separate set of 6 message kinds, managed the same way. The two never cross.
