Why can't my assistant do this for me?
Either that area was not granted to you, or it is one of the two acts nobody may take on an attorney's behalf: attesting to a conflict check, and signing a fee-division agreement. Those are professional responsibilities of the attorney personally, so no permission unlocks them.
When it is a granted-area question, the attorney can add the area from the team section and you can carry on.
When it is one of the two personal acts, the work is not blocked — the attorney is sent a link to complete that one step, and everything either side of it stays with you.
