Why didn't my claim link work?
Almost always one of two things. The link is older than 24 hours, in which case starting again sends a fresh one. Or too many attempts were made in an hour and the throttle tripped — that clears by itself, and nothing about your profile changed.
The limits are 5 attempts an hour from one connection and 3 against any single profile. They exist so that somebody who is not you cannot sit and try, and they are the reason a profile is worth claiming early.
Waiting is the whole remedy. There is nothing to reset, nobody to ask, and no way to buy past it. Nothing you did was wrong.
