Chambers High Net Worth in California: what the guide covers
Checked against the sources below on 4 October 2026. The California Attorney Registry is not affiliated with any publisher named on this page.
Chambers High Net Worth is the Chambers and Partners guide to advisers who act for wealthy individuals and families. Unlike most of Chambers' work, which concerns business law for companies, this guide covers matters an individual may face: estate and trust planning, disputes over trusts and estates, and family law where substantial assets are involved.
The California tables
On 4 October 2026 Chambers' research schedule listed these California sections for the 2027 edition, all shown as being researched:
- Private Wealth Law, for California and separately for Northern California and Southern California;
- Private Wealth Disputes;
- Family/Matrimonial: High Net Worth;
- and, for advisers who are not lawyers: Accountants & Tax Advisers, Private Banks, and Wealth Managers.
Only the legal tables concern attorneys. The guide on chambers.com lists the current edition's tables and the lawyers in each.
How a recognition from this guide reads
The same five parts apply as for any Chambers recognition: the guide, the edition year, the practice table, the location and the designation. On a California Attorney Registry record the line names the guide in full, so a High Net Worth designation is never shown as a Chambers USA one:
Chambers High Net Worth [edition year], [designation], Private Wealth Law (California: Southern). As published by Chambers and Partners; CAR does not rank attorneys.
The bracketed words are a template. Chambers bands explained covers the designations.
What it is not
- Not a license fact. Whether an attorney may practise is on the State Bar record.
- Not a certified specialty. The State Bar of California certifies specialists in fields that include estate planning, trust and probate law, and family law. That is a State Bar credential with its own requirements. A registry record lists a certified specialty and a publisher's recognition in separate sections.
- Not a measure of every attorney. The guide researches a small part of the profession. Many attorneys who do estate, trust and family work are not in it, and absence is not a negative sign.
For someone choosing an attorney
Treat a recognition as one published opinion, and read its source. Then check the license status and discipline history on the State Bar record, ask about experience with matters like yours, and make sure you understand the fee agreement. The registry lists attorneys in a neutral order and does not select or rank an attorney for you. Browse attorney records.
For attorneys
Submissions follow the same pattern as Chambers USA, on their own dates: how the Chambers research schedule works. If Chambers has published a recognition for you, claim your record free and add it with the guide, the edition year, the table and the link to your page on chambers.com.
Common questions
What is Chambers High Net Worth?
It is the Chambers guide to advisers who act for wealthy individuals and families. It covers private wealth lawyers and, in separate tables, non-lawyer advisers such as accountants, private banks and wealth managers.
Which California tables does Chambers High Net Worth have?
On 4 October 2026 Chambers' research schedule listed these California sections for the 2027 edition: Private Wealth Law for California and separately for Northern and Southern California, Private Wealth Disputes, and Family/Matrimonial: High Net Worth, with separate sections for accountants and tax advisers, private banks and wealth managers.
Is a Chambers High Net Worth recognition the same as a Chambers USA recognition?
No. They are separate guides with separate tables and edition years. A registry record states which guide a recognition comes from, so a High Net Worth designation is never shown as a Chambers USA one.
Does a High Net Worth recognition mean an attorney is a certified specialist?
No. Certified specialist is a State Bar of California credential in defined fields such as estate planning, trust and probate law, and family law. A Chambers recognition is a publisher's research designation. A registry record lists the two separately.
How should a client use a High Net Worth recognition?
Read it with its guide, edition year, practice table and location, and open the source link. Then check the attorney's license and any certified specialty on the State Bar record, and ask about experience with matters like yours.
