Chambers USA 2027 submissions: deadlines and how the research schedule works
Checked against the sources below on 4 October 2026. The California Attorney Registry is not affiliated with any publisher named on this page.
There is no single Chambers USA deadline. Every practice table in every location has its own date, and Chambers publishes each one on a live research schedule. This page explains how to read that schedule for California and what the schedule showed on 4 October 2026.
How to find your section
- Open the research schedule on chambers.com.
- Under Locations, choose California. The schedule also lists parts of California, such as Los Angeles and surrounds, San Francisco and Silicon Valley, San Diego, and Northern and Southern California, as their own locations.
- Under Chambers Guides, choose USA. Chambers High Net Worth sections for California appear in the same list.
- Find your practice table and read its status.
The schedule can be downloaded, and Chambers offers calendar reminders for the sections you choose.

What a submission contains
Chambers' submissions page links to the current form and guidance for each guide. A firm makes one submission for each practice table in each location. The form asks for:
- information about the department and what distinguishes it;
- the lawyers the firm puts forward, with reasons;
- recent work highlights, each marked publishable or confidential;
- client referees whom Chambers' researchers may contact.
Chambers' guidance, as read on 2 October 2026, allowed up to 20 work highlights and up to 30 referees for a section. Confirm the limits on the current form. Do not disclose client-confidential information without the authority to do so, and tell referees to expect contact.
What it costs
Chambers states that submitting and taking part in its research is free. The real cost is time. Chambers also sells products to law firms, such as profiles; none is a condition of being researched, by its own statement.
After publication
Chambers publishes each guide once a year. Chambers USA 2026 was published in June 2026. Chambers' published launch dates, as read on 2 October 2026, give 3 June 2027 for Chambers USA 2027; confirm the date with Chambers. When the guide is live:
- Check the published table. A submission does not establish a recognition; only the published table does.
- Note the guide, the edition year, the practice table, the location and the exact designation for each lawyer, and keep the link to the lawyer's page on chambers.com.
- Distinguish the firm's recognition from each individual lawyer's.
- Record the published fact on your California Attorney Registry record. Claim your record free if you have not yet.
The registry does not submit to Chambers for anyone, sell a recognition or promise an outcome. See Chambers bands explained for what each designation means, and Chambers Spotlight California if your firm has fewer lawyers than the main guide usually covers.
